I’m looking to get back into drawing. It’s something I was really into around Middle and High School. I’m 28 now and haven’t really picked up a pencil in a long time for anything other than some simple doodles here and there. My goal is to get good at drawing mythical and realistic beasts like dragons, wyverns, griffins, so on and so forth, as well as maybe some humanoid characters (kinda just DnD art basically) I started sketching little bits here and there last night and I came to a bit of a block not really knowing what to practice to just get some basics figured out. As far as the human stuff goes I kinda understand practicing anatomy stuff, head shapes, eyes, skeletons and stuff like that but the monster stuff has me at a bit of a block. What do I need to seek out for practice to effectively start making progress towards making some realistic looking shapes? Links to YouTube stuff or anything like that is great and I also love simple boiled down brass tacks tips as well.
