Here's what I don't understand, and maybe I am missing the point. People write a book, make a song, generate art, using AI and others enjoy it. Then someone starts yelling about it being generated using AI (usually failing to understand how that actually works), and an uproar occurs, people come out of the woodwork to use "AI detecting tools" (note they are not as foolproof as everyone thinks, and are just running algorithms like the AI generators do, but that's neither here nor there). Book, song, whatever is pulled. Publisher/distributor does mandatory fall-on-the-sword mea culpa moment, and the Anti-AI crowd looks for their next target. the book Shy Girl is one of these moments recently, but there are myriad others. Okay, all good, people gonna people... but here's where it breaks down for me... Why? Why does anyone care? If the book brought entertainment... or the song made you tap your feet... or the image made you feel inspired or just happy looking at it... why does any fucking care how it was made? I feel like we are living in a time of insanity, and all of this is either performative, or possibly jealousy by failed artists? I honestly don't know, but I do know I am getting sick and tired of it being something that we have to pay attention to. grrrr...
