Everyone knows that plastic is made of oil, and oil companies want to keep digging for longer to sell more black gold, what do they do in order to do this? Make some products paper, not plastic, of course, so that there is more oil left to dig and sell, as there is not infinite oil everywhere.

The oil companies got other companies to switch to paper as a 'win win' scenario where they can disguise it as saving the environment, even though plastic can infact be recycled, but no one will invest in better recycling plants, strange, eh?

All together, this allows the oil companies to make more money by digging for longer, as less is being used on plastics, the companies that switched to paper get good PR, and we, the people are stuck with those shitty paper straws
