I’ve been taking this for a week and I don’t feel great. I was warned that it could potentially increase symptoms of OCD and Anxiety before starting but thought to give it a go anyway to treat my ADHD as I don’t do well on stimulants.

I haven’t experienced any positive benefits so far, in terms of ADHD or otherwise, which I know can take time. But at the same time my anxiety has increased and so has intrusive thoughts / getting stuck in negative thought patterns. I’ve been through years of therapy (CBT) and haven’t experience this to this intensity in a long time.

I just generally feel depressed and I think this might not be for me. If I stop taking it should I do so gradually? And what does that look like?

Any and all thoughts and feedback welcome!

I (32F) am home alone as my partner works late 2 days a week. I was in my basement TV room playing a video game when I heard the doorbell ring. I ignored it initially as I normally do when I’m home alone. (No woman alone should ever answer the door IMO.) but then the doorbell rang again. Fine ..normal enough. Then it rang 6-7 times in a quick sequence followed by a couple of hard bangs.

At this point I’m thinking my sister who lives with us is trying to get in and the battery for the keypad finally died. But just in case , I check my front camera.

There standing on the porch is a rough looking 6ft man in tattered clothing stepping off my porch. He then proceeds to walk to the side of my house and disappear off camera.

So I grab my two dogs (70lb pit bull and 75lb Doberman) and come upstairs to keep my eye on the situation. When I get upstairs he’s peaking in my through my dining room window . He sees me and then tries to open the window (not sure how tf you planned on doing that) then asks me to open the window. I mouth “hell no” . So he starts walking back to the front of the house.

When he gets there I crack one of my windows - the ones that crank but don’t open fully - and at that point my dogs jump on the couch and are in full view and I say “what the fuck do you want” and he says he’s looking for “Jelersha and Austyn” (I don’t remember the names but they sounded completely made up , like buddy didn’t even try) I said “they don’t live here “ and he repeats their names and I just said “nobody by those names lives here” and then he proceeded to my neighbours front door and I have no idea where he went after

Now I’m just a bit freaked out … those knocks and the attempt to open my window did not seem like he was just looking for someone. Now I’m sitting in my living room with my metal bat and two dogs on full standby. I want to call the police but my partner thinks he’s either just on drugs or harmless and that I listen to too many true crime podcasts… Am I over reacting?

UPDATE: thank you everyone for your comments! Some of them made me laugh at a weird moment so I thank you especially for that. I did call the police and they did a cruise around the neighbourhood but I didn’t hear anything after that. My partner came home early from work and we just made sure every window was locked and curtained , set the alarm and went to bed 🤷🏻‍♀️ not much else to do but get myself a gun and switch security providers .
