I'm so confused that I don't know where to turn - so to Reddit! I purchased a product in-store at Ulta yesterday. Got home, did some research, realized it wasn't what I needed.
Today I attempted to return the product - unopened, unused, and with the receipt. I was told that because I didn't give them my phone number when I made the purchase, I could "attempt" to return it, but the maximum they could give me was the lowest price the product had ever been sold for. The staff then said that if anyone had ever purchased it on points, I would get zero back.
I have the receipt. It had been purchased less than 24 hours previously. It was unopened, unused. They said they couldn't prove my purchase. I pointed to the receipt and asked what its purpose was. She shrugged and said, "Some people like us to print them."
I am confused beyond belief. What am I missing?
