So I'm somewhat new to DND and im playing a human gunslinger from Valdas and I just wanted to know if this is a good build / how to improve it!
level 6 White hat gunslinger:
origan feat is Savage attacker (from human)
Archery fighting style
Gun-Mage adept / Sentinel feat?
Im not sure which feat here is better, sentinel would let me attack more and in combo with lay down the law I would theoretically shoot twice during my turn, then twice if my specified ally is attacked.
Or with gun mage I can use Ballistic Smite to add alot more damage which with ranger I think can start poping off with other stacks.
Level 4 Gloom Stalker Ranger
Defense fighting style
Piercer feat
Other stuff: I took criminal background for roleplay, so I usually move first when stacked with the gunslinger's advantage on initiative and the gloomstakers bonus to initiative.
Like if if crit stacking the crit itself, hunters mark, ballistic smite, extra die from pericer sounds broken
like if I understand this right, if i crit with a pistol that's 3d10+4 (base + crit + piercer + prof bonus) + 5d6 (dreadful strike + hunters mark + ballistic smite).
like I can't spam this bc of the limited spell slots, but I would use it to take down key targets.
So I assume
turn 1: Hunters mark + Lay down the law
turn 2: Kill
ISTR: 12 DEX: 15 CON: 15 INT: 8 WIS 14: CHA: 13
I'm just planning this out so lmk how I can improve it or if this build works at all lmao
