A few months ago I bought a little desk accessory from a fellow Redditor that posted his new 3D printed Fountain Pen Cleaning Beds. I was one of the first to buy from him as I'm always trying new things and want to support accessible innovation. Not everything in the Fountain Pen world should cost an arm and a leg. Though it was marketed, and initially used for cleaning FPs, it looked handsome enough to earn a full-time spot on my desk. I am a neat freak and like to keep everything organized, and as you all know, FPs can quickly take over the desk.

Fast forward a few months and u/ciggybuttboi posted his newest innovation - 3D Printed Modular Pen Storage solutions. I jumped for the opportunity to get in early after seeing the photos. Clean asthetics, lots of felted pen drawers, and even a larger drawer option for other FP "stuff." It took a little while to arrive, as I (im)patiently waited we traded DMs with progress updates, options for colors, mounting kits and other details that he continued to work out. When it arrived, I was super happy with the final product. For a very reasonable price, I now have a storage unit that holds 30 FPs in the drawers, plus a few on top along with bottles of ink and reading glasses. For those of you that use reading glasses, you know that just one pair is never enough, they always disappear (often on top of my head). The unit is printed with good precision - no wobbly cabinet, or drawers that are difficult to open, just smooth operation. And it looks sharp on my birch desktop. The design is modern and it blends in very well with the aesthetic. I regretted not getting two 4-drawer cabinets, as the larger drawer ended up being a junk drawer, of which I have many, so I ordered another 4-drawer cabinet as it was only $20 more than just ordering 3 new drawers. Now I'll have storage for 60 pens. It's nice enough that it works great for taking pictures of my collection, and for pens I want to sell.

Take a look at the pictures and comment below with your thoughts and feedback. David will read and you can follow this link to his website Nib Station | Old Soul Manufacturing or look for his posts in r/Pen_Swap.
