Following on from this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/ukheatpumps/s/q6yhR4BX19

I was happy with their explanation. We tweaked some things (removed the orangery radiator, as we decided it would make the room too tight; we use it as a rarely used dining room and it’s already tight with adults on both sides or the table). 400% efficiency option remained.

Then the new Valiant Pro was offered… which fits in smaller spaces. Our HG came back and measured up outside to see if it would fit down our alley, but the answer was still that it wouldn’t fit there; fair enough.

Our HG added the pro as an option in the original location as well as the plus.

This is where things get weird, since then even tho the heat loss hasn’t changed, and the HG did not remeasure anything internally, we are no longer being offered a 400% efficiency option (which came with 4 radiators being replaced), instead now we get 2 380% options, both with the same radiators change, the only difference is a larger water tank. I should say this is regardless of the heat pump I select.

I’ve emailed them and they have told me:

“Unfortunately, we don't offer version history on proposals so can't re-instate any previous iterations. Secondly, on to the point about the higher efficiency options - we can no longer guarantee the higher efficiency options and also can't reinstate to 400%. There's an issue that's preventing this from being uploaded and there's currently no resolution for this. Each of the 380% designs are perfectly valid, if that helps?”

To me this sounds like they know they have a bug in our quote “there’s an issue preventing this from being uploaded”. Which really cuts into the trust that their quotes are good in the first place.

Has anyone else experienced this? I was ready to pay the deposit, but now I’m not so sure… I know 20% efficiency isn’t the end of the world, but it was offered and now it’s not for the same house & kit.
