Only one week of training?

I started working for a pest control company. Good reputation online. But my training with my "mentor" seemed rushed and incomplete. I am completely new to the industry. Never sprayed or treated for bugs in my life. Told my manager where I was honestly. A bit shaky with the basics still but he said id be fine and we'd do more training in the future.

Is one week of training normal for a pest control tech who's green?

Tomorrow im solo for the first time and very anxious.

Im excited and a bit nervous. Will be training with someone for a few weeks, then someone else for the rest of the month.

This is a brand new field for me. But I wanna see if this can be a solid career. Late 30s starting over in life.

Any advice or tips would be very appreciated! Thank you.

Im about to accept a job in an industry I want to grow and stay in. Only issue is they dont offer a 401k. How bad is that? Im 38 for context and this is a totally new field for me to break into. What are my options?
