Hey dear community,
I’m a mental health counsellor, with just a small private practice that I run in the evenings after my day job. For years I did not encounter any interference between the two, but a year ago I was promoted to a role where my day requires way more decision making and tracking progress, etc - since then I often find it hard to get into my active listening mindset and be just present, and let the client work, instead I find myself constantly holding back advices, ideas, etc.
I guess I’m not the first to experience this. Would you recommend me any best practices on how to switch? Do you know any articles on the topic that you would recommend? Is there a professional term for this “functional switch”?
Thanks in advance,
Gergely
