So I go into the hospital in 5 days for an ALIF L-5 to S1 and the next day for a PLIF for T-10 to S-1. Two days, two big surgeries. I am not even sure I am writing this correctly. I have many things wrong with my back but mostly scoliosis with a 59° curve. I was told I had scoliosis at 8 years old and my parents didnt do anything. Since about 21 years old, it has gotten MUCH worse. I am now 58y.o. female and facing this pretty much alone. I have had a morphine pump in my back for about 5 years and take oxy 2x day. I have been on so many meds it makes my head spin. I dont know what its like to be out of pain. I feel like my pain is getting worse the closer I get to surgery. Does anyone have any thoughts for me? Anything I SHOULD/MUST have after surgery when I get home? I trust and like my surgeon, but I am now not just nervous, but scared too. Thanks everyone.
