Long story short, the past two years have been an up and down, spiraling crazy-train to, well, here I guess. My partner and I had a place together, but he fell out of work. Then, I experienced the loss of two people close to me just days before Christmas, and had no available work time to use to mourn with family or friends.

This lead to a worsening of the symptoms of my disability, a loss in income, and eventually I needed to tke the time to rebuild on short-term disability leave. This left us far behind on bills. We were soon evicted and spent the next several months homeless.

I traveled from hotel to hotel, to Airbnb, in order to keep my emotional support animals safe and in my care. This, however, almost cost more money than I could generate daily. With no way to save money, or even feed myself, I had to figure out a solution.

We finally reunited in our place now. A run-down basement with the hopes of being renovated and finished into a basement apartment. We finally created the space to move our items out of storage, but through all the turmoil and financial strain, choices had to be made and were made on our behalf. On top of this, my last payment on the unit in January was $45. The facility has raised my rate to $100 monthly, and the late fees accrued are obscene.

This brings us to now where we now owe $500 in late rent and added fees. We need help paying this off so we can get back our personal belongings. It doesn't just contain replaceable material possessions like clothes and furniture, it also contains our dear memories. Our yearbooks, diplomas, photographs, keepsakes given by family past and present, knick snacks that give us fond and gentle reminders of the days gone by.

These are items we can never get back without your help. If you could donate or share the cause, we would be so eternally grateful to your generosity.
