Interesting data re: calorie tracking over time
I'm a bit of a data nerd, I've been tracking my calories very consistently over the last 14 months of Mounjaro. I've got a spreadsheet that I tracked my weight on, and just recently created a section that included calories eaten that week, as well as a formula that calculates my expected BMR based on that week's weight, takes the difference and divides by 3500 to see what my "expected" weight loss would have been vs my actual weight loss.
Thought I'd share it as one snapshot of how the medication has worked - it seems, for whatever reason, like it's been slowing down as I've approached the one year mark and gone past it. Metabolic slowdown? Other factors? As long as the number is still going down I'm not panicking about it yet.
In the big picture, I lost more than expected at first - water weight, almost certainly, and then levelled out through the rest of the year, and have begun slowing down compared to my expected loss. There's a spike in the last few weeks that can be attributed to starting to go to the gym, as well as hoping on prednisone for an unrelated issue that is causing me to hold on to some extra water right now.
Maybe you'll find this interesting too!
