Old bugs!

Hi everyone, we're making our game Stowaway, and these are a couple of out of context screenshots of bugs we had. None of them are super obvious visual bugs, just performative bugs.

For a lot of them it's debug code not lining up the way it needs to, doors being non-functional, cargo not working, etc.

To help explain,

The first screenshot is the doors not opening when we walk in front of them like they're supposed to! We ended up trial and error-ing the doors at least a dozen times before getting them to work as well as they do now, and we're still finding bugs!!! Our doors are a little more complex than opening and closing which is why we've had so many issues, I promise we're not just bad at building doors...

For the second screenshot we were working on getting more GUI working for our ships systems. We were working specifically on getting our power system up and running, and that white blob on the side of the screen was supposed to be the menu we interact to get the power generator up and working!

In the third one we're working on our power system again, and now our doors have stopped working again!! This was another step in our long journey of getting functional doors in our game!

And last but not least, the last image was taken because this is when we started hitting really bad lag spikes in our game! Movement was beyond choppy, we couldn't interact with anything and everything was slower than molasses!

We hope you enjoy going through and looking at our brief little bugs we've run into along the way!!

We're streaming to promote our own game

How do you guys recommend we gain a following on twitch? We're quite constant with how often we stream, but at max we've only ever had about two viewers.

I know our content is kind of boring as is, but the main person streaming doesn't want to change the way that they are just to gain attention.

Do we have to appeal more to traditional forms of entertainment? Like being louder or funnier just to gain interaction?

We'll have more to show soon, but this is our mapped out node path for our alien.

With this we've got our wandering, and chase mechanics working. We're now moving on to getting death logic working for the alien.

We're making a multiplayer game, and we've reduced the lag by quite a bit, but we're still getting more lag than we desire in the long run...we think it could be our server since it's being run through a laptop, but does anyone else have any input?

How do people usually reduce lag in multiplayer games?

And I will confirm our Internet can be iffy, but it's not usually this bad for other multiplayer games, and our game really isn't very big, nor is it intended to ever get very big.

Any ideas? Maybe even some sort of issue with memory storage?

We do track a few different states, but we've reduced the ping on a lot of things to try and find balance.

How do other games do it? Or how did you do it if you've made a multiplayer game before?

Hello everybody! I'm new to reaching out like this, but our studio is looking for people interested in our game! We are Pleroma Studios and we're developing our latest project Stowaway taking inspiration from among us.

We haven't released yet, but we'll be out soon, and in the meantime we need feedback on what we can improve from what we have so far.

Our game is a top-down 2d co-op horror game. Your characters are stowaways on the Daveithai, when something goes wrong. You and your teammates emerge from hiding, and must repair the ship while evading an alien invader.

I personally am almost always available and will answer any questions related to our game!

Thank you all for your time!

Hi everyone! So we're still in development but we have base gameplay with in depth dev vlogs out on the internet (I'll link a channel).

We hope to help others by sharing our experiences and hope you guys can also help us! We need feedback from fellow game devs on how we can improve aspects of our game, and will soon need bug testers too.

We hope to hear from you all!

We’ve been working on a small co-op horror project at Pleroma Studios and wanted to get some outside perspective.

The idea is a top-down 2D game where you and your team are trying to survive while being hunted by an alien threat with gameplay inspired by among us.

If anyone’s interested, I can share a short clip or talk more about what we’re building. We’re also getting close to needing more playtesters, so feedback is super helpful right now.

We have thorough dev vlogs up on our socials if you'd like to watch long form videos of our development process on YouTube (under our studios name), but we'll also be posting short pieces of information and ask for feedback on small things like art and other mechanics here!

Me and my family are working on a game project called Stowaway through gamemaker. It's co-op and the learning curve has been interesting.

One of our hold ups is servers. Our current plan is to rent servers upon release of our game, but if anyone else has better ideas please let us know! We need feedback on a lot of things as far as both development and gameplay go.

You can find us on most social media under Pleroma Studios if you're interested in seeing our work!

Hey everyone, I don't currently have a screenshot of our game, but we've got dev logs up on YouTube if you search Pleroma Studios. We're just looking for general feedback. We're still in development and barely getting to a point where we may need bug testers soon.

I don't really know how to reach out for things like this and support in that aspect is also welcome. If anyone has any direction on where to look for genuine feedback, or gaining a following it'd be much appreciated.

We really hope to see some genuine feedback from our fellow devs, thank you all!
