Hello! My rising 7th grader and I will be embarking on a homeschool journey for the first time with the start of the new school year. He has been in our county virtual school since 1st grade. We were not planning to begin homeschooling this year, but it's happening! I have no real idea of where to start as far as finding curriculums or schooling styles, so I was hoping to gather some suggestions!

For some background, my son has ADHD and is an active learner. We love spending time in nature, and I do not want to spend a lengthy time indoors on school work. He struggles with math, and so do I, so an online course for math would probably be best, but we both thrive in ELA, social studies and science. The one caveat for ELA is he has had relatively little instruction on writing this far and may be behind there. He loves to read, however.

We definitely prefer a secular curriculum, and I would do best with a very open and go style, as I've had no past experience and also have a work from home (on my own time) job to attend to.

Thanks so much for any insight and suggestions!
