Serious question. As the heading asks, is the current run up of SMH an opportunity for big whales to manipulate SMH. I read everywhere that a price is due to drop at anytime now, but the holdings of SMH actually keep going up. Intel, Micron, etc, might still have legs to run. I don't follow why the price of the ETF has to go down just because it went up.

Specifically, would Institutional Investors and the media push the price down, yell panic!, freak out retail who invariably will run to sell; giving smart money a great opportunity refill at lower prices?

I'm thinking that this is how it is going to play out in the short-term. Let me know what you think.
