I was hoping some people with more knowledge would be able to help me out on this- I recently picked up this 1903 from a buddy who's grandpa was in the Navy, and im just trying to learn more about what all of the markings mean. From what I gathered it was of course made by Remington in Febuary of 42'(barrel says RA 2-42" as does the bolt have an R marked on it. Id like to know if the stock is original, and was also curious about why I see so many different styles of butt plates? Any help appreciated!
