Common side effects of owning a pool?

So I’m coming up on owning a pool for 2 years now. This year I’ve really been getting into the swing of things and I really enjoy it. We had a small group of people over on Saturday for mother’s day brunch and some of the kids swam. I got a couple compliments on the pool, one from the wife too.

Jump to Sunday we go over to the inlaws and their pool is green tinged, and we heard from MIL a few weeks back they had an algae breakout that they clearly didn’t fully treat. They’re swimming in it and talking themselves up like this is so great, pools perfect etc etc. my wife and I both look at each other and are like nope, not swimming. Which is not the first time thats happened.

Anyways, I feel like now I’m the bougie guy whos never going to swim in other folks pools unless its as perfect as mine. Im embarrassed if there is like a single piece of floating debris on the surface and we’re hosting.

Cant be the only person whos like this right?

Hello! Im looking to add 1-2 new users to my hobby server. This is not a professional server, but im not looking to profit. This is a passion project for my family but wanting to share with other folks who might appreciate my work.

While i cant brag top of line equipment, highest fastest quality etc my server is running 24/7 and I typically am responsive to requests and questions.

I am asking for a starting donation of $5 which helps save for future expansion and expenses. If you can donate a few bucks a month ongoing that would be appreciated but not expected. I hope this sets the expectation that this is mutually beneficial for all parties without feeling you are being taken advantage of.

Feel free to message me with your username and I will add you so you can browse my library for 24hours and if interested I can add you to my discord chat to participate and at that point arrange a donation.

Thanks!!

I searched and came across a few older posts. not many helpful comments and many just parroting dickies is a trash brand, etc. so spare the comments as I already know that part i guess.

I have some quality shorts from dickies. And also some of the cheaper twill from walmart and they are starting to show their age and would like to replace them.

Is it still possible to find some of the quality canvas material that they used to be known for? Or has it completely gone away? Any suggestions on where to look? I dont see many local places carrying it and amazon is a gamble even 15 years ago if you were going to get the twill stuff
