Salaam, I'm a male revert of about 8 years, and having a chat to a couple of friends. What's the general opinions from the progressives regarding circumcision in two situations,
Myself a 30 something male, previously told this was not required and in fact is perhaps disliked due to the requirement to be uncovered, pain etc. Alot of people argue to the contrary and also seem to use hygiene as their main argument, which I completely disagree with.
For baby boys? I am in the medical field and I feel a little conflicted doing something that the baby has no choice over, without consent and the ethics are conflicting me. Particularly as from what I've read I don't understand where the "fard" ruling applied seems to come from. There would be significant pressure from family to do it. To also say it doesn't have any negative effects is also untrue...
