Years ago I got a X AE-5 soundcard for my (gaming) PC. I used it for a while but 2-3 years ago i swapped over to a wireless headset and haven't used the soundcard since. Lately I’ve been thinking about buying a pair of iems, and since they use 3,5 mm cable I might as well use them with my soundcard. Does this work fine?

I recall reading something about the X AE-5 being too old for new iems, but maybe that's completely wrong. Maybe this is a very dumb question overall, but I didn't want to take any risks.

First of all, I’m not very familiar with iems but I’ve been curious to try a pair for a while, mainly because I'm tired of clumsy headphones and hair dents. I just found a pair of unused IE 200 for 70$. As I understand it IE 200 isn't the best pair, rarely recommended (but not bad ofc), but I also read that the difference between pairs isn't that noticeable. So not sure what to think? Does it really matter?
