Connecting a steel pipe to a T
Hello, I am experiencing a leak that appears to originate from a broken nipple located between the T-fitting and the valve.
I have re-taped the threads on both the tap and the connector leading to the main line. However, I am currently unable to determine how to properly connect the pipe to the T-fitting. There is insufficient space to install a new nipple, as the previous one appears to have broken off inside the pipe, which is how it became dislodged. The steel pipe offers no flexibility other than lateral movement. I am also puzzled because even if one side were to be screwed in, it seems to unscrew when attempting to connect the two pieces together.
I have considered using union joints, but unfortunately, no nearby stores have them in stock.
Do you have any recommendations or advice regarding this situation? This is for an irrigation system that leads to the valves and water control box.
Thanks
