Need ideas for a removable sleeping platform in my interior build
My family has recently expanded to four so the cab-over queen bed in our pop-up topper style camper is no longer going to cover our needs alone. While the kids are still small I need a way to sleep at an angle in our 5.5ft truck bed and could use some tips on this.
Right now the plan is to build benches/storage on both sides of the truck bed, then have removable panels that can be placed between the benches to create a flat surface all the way across. I’m trying to figure out:
How to support the sleeping platform panels on both sides.
Where to store these panels when not in use.
Most likely building the benches with extruded aluminum but still open to other options. Would love to hear your ideas and see examples if you have done this. Searching this question for existing posts did not turn up much.
