Secrets Royal Beach Resort - Preferred Club

Myself and my wife were wondering whether to upgrade to preferred club or not, a lot of reviews on Reddit and YouTube have advised that it isn't worth the extra money, don't get too many benefits etc.

My honest review is that it is worth upgrading.

I am honeymooning with my new wife, we were wanting peace, quiet and romance.

We didn't upgrade prior to our 2 week holiday, deciding it wasn't worth the money.

When we arrived we were offered a great package, a bit less than £100 per day between us and we decided to go for it.

Since day one, we have not used any area that isn't preferred.

The preferred areas are quieter, and far less in demand. The beach view breakfast and lunch options away from the main restaurants alone are a godsend.

The main pool and buffet are busy unless you arrive really early. The a la carte breakfast and lunch location is beautiful in the daytime and the staff are so friendly.

If you want liveliness and don't mind a crowd, I'd suggest not upgrading, but if you want peace and far better comfort, you should seriously consider upgrading.

We'd have had a great time without preferred but one week in to our holiday, we've both said we'd have paid more for the extras.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms and beautiful staff.
