Hello, we've recently completed a total exterior renovation including roof, siding, soffit, fascia and eaves. All the big stuff looks good, but in my opinion the caulking on the windows and doors leaves something to be desired.

When they caulked around the brick, it looks sloppy and excessive. Also, they used clear silicone rather than a gray, which would've been a closer match to the window and door capping. I've used AI to edit the images to see what it would look like with dark gray caulking, and even with the excess amount it looks much better.

The contractor states they needed to use that amount of caulk to prevent water penetration, and that it looks good to them. I haven't brought up the colour issue yet. as its not something I really thought of until now. Am I being reasonable that the existing caulking looks poorly done and something should be done? We spent about 45k for the whole project, so just want to be satisfied with the end result.
