A lot of my work has been very sensitive. I’ve described it mostly in general terms on my resume in the past, partly because it’s like the greatest hits of my past and present employers’ biggest reputation challenges, and I don’t want to burn bridges. The other part of my hesitation is that some of it is topically sensitive (like high profile allegations of sexual assault). Not to be full of myself, but I’m really proud of the work I led to restore trust and navigate the PR high wire.
I recently got some advice to showcase these things in more detail, because they were national news and the work products genuinely changed narratives in the news, on social media, and in a community. I’m just concerned it could come off as celebrating the worst of the worst or that I defended or covered up for people who committed sexual assault (I did not). What’s the right level of detail for a resume or LinkedIn?
