This is a China-exclusive Overwatch top-up event
The event has to be done in a group. Five players can form a team, and you get rewards based on how much money you top up.
If you personally top up 270 RMB, about 39.76 USD, you can get the full 9 loot boxes. If your team tops up 700 RMB in total, about 103.08 USD, you can get another 9 loot boxes. So you can get up to 18 boxes in total.
These are special event-exclusive loot boxes. They can contain top-up discount coupons, Legendary skins, Premium Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1 to 14, and other items.
Overall, the drop rate is actually pretty high. From my 18 boxes, I got one 50 RMB coupon, about 7.36 USD, several 5 RMB coupons, about 0.74 USD each, 3 Battle Pass rewards, and 7 Legendary skins.
Items obtained this way can be sold or gifted to friends. Each skin is worth around 15 RMB, about 2.21 USD, on the second-hand market.
Besides that, there are also team-based activity missions.
Basically, you have to complete a certain number of matches every day and every week. Just like the top-up missions, you can earn both personal activity rewards and team-wide activity rewards.
Some of the missions even require you to play in an in-game group.
If you and your team complete everything without missing a day, you can get around 3 Legendary Loot Boxes, 2 Anniversary Loot Boxes, and 4 Legendary skins.
