Coccidiostat administration

I have two kids I would like to give coccidiostats to for prevention. I am worried about them spitting out the drench. Last time I gave one of them a drench, they spit most of it out. Any tips for drenching or coccidiostats would be helpful. Thank you

Goat Conformation

I am going to breed my goats for the first time this year. I am trying to learn more about goat conformation, so I can make good decisions about which goats to breed. Is there a way to tell if a doe will have a good udder before she is in milk?

All of the diagrams and pictures I have seen showing ideal conformation are of does with full udders. Most of my does have never been bred, and are around a year old right now. I have Nigerian Dwarves and one Nigerian Dwarf/Boer.

Any tips for what to look for in a doe would be appreciated.

Also, some of my does are shorter and stockier and some are taller and thinner. Is one of those body types more desirable in Nigerian Dwarves?

Should I buy a buck or use a sire?

There is a farm near me that has buck that they hire out for stud service. If I use the sire, I am a little nervous about diseases since there is always a risk with bringing in a new goat. If I buy a buck, would I only be able to use him one season, and then have to sell him to avoid inbreeding?

I have had one doe give birth before, but I have never bred them. Also, all but one doe would be first fresheners. I don’t know if that makes a difference in which way to go.

Kid with diarrhea

One of my kids has diarrhea. She is 2 1/2 months old. She is being dam raised. She gets as much browse as she wants, as she is out foraging with the rest of the goats all day. She also gets a mix of alfalfa pellets, goat feed without coccidiostats, and shredded beet pulp. The diarrhea is green. Does this mean she ate too many alfalfa pellets? Should I go ahead and treat for coccidiosis?

I also read about cryptosporidiosis as a possible diarrhea cause in my goat book. However, I don’t think it is that because the diarrhea would be white or yellow.
