My partner is Portuguese and we plan to get married this year, we brought a apartment in Portugal, and we plan to use it when we go to visit and then move there full time in 2028 (only reason not moving now is to save some backup funds)

I was wondering is anyone else been in this position and how does it work for me being a British citizen what visa do I apply for? And how can I go towards the steps of becoming a citizen? Expecially with the new rule.

I’m just a little unsure what I need todo and is it too early to do anything we plan to marry in October.

I already have a nif and we have a joint bank account for our mortage in Portugal
