How are you functioning at your job? Everything feels so trivial compared to this monumental loss.

I feel like the sun has left my life and nothing matters anymore. I work in a job that requires problem solving for people but I just cant get into it because every problem seems so trivial compared to this incredible calamity and it is hard for me to sympathize nor care. I am working very hard to keep controlled and not lash out. How are you all doing? All the best to you and your loved ones.

Trying to help my other dog cope with loss. Any tips?

On top of my own tremendous heartbreak and brokenness, my other dog has also lost his best friend in the entire universe. He didnt get to see her pass, her death came as a surprise at the animal hospital.

He cries on her bed and looks around the house for her. He sometimes can be happy, we were outside the other day and he happily wagged his tail and said hello to another dog and they sniffed each other. But when we get home he has spells of being very sad and is clearly missing my other dog who has passed as he looks over at the direction of her bed.

Helping him through his grief has been helping me take my mind off my own grief. But we are both hurting quite a lot and it has been difficult. Did anyone else here have to help a grieving dog( in addition to your own heartbreak)?

Have you been able to engage in any hobbies after loss?

Im trying to get back into some semblance of regular life after losing my angel, my light of my life. But it's impossible. I cant enjoy TV or movies or reading. I cant enjoy exercise. I dont enjoy eating anymore. I dont want to socialize, because the topic will either come up or I have to nod and smile like it didnt happen.

I have buried myself in work, cleaning, random chores around the house.

What have you all been up to in order to move on?

Devastated over losing my dog. I keep thinking this is a bad dream and she will be back.

Its unbelievably rough without my dog. I didnt know pain like this existed. I have trained martial arts and have been hit very hard in training and competitions, but I didnt know this level of pain could possibly exist.

She was 12 years old black lab, almost 13. I miss our walks. I miss our ten minutes of saying hello to each other when I get home from work. I miss feeding her her favorite home cooked meal. I miss her dancing before she gets her food bowl, or before we go on our walk.

I keep crying incessantly whenever I think of her. This is devastating. I dont even know what the point is of eating, drinking, working, or getting up from bed or anything right now.

I always thought id eventually get another dog if this one passed but now I am not so sure. This is breaking me.

(Dynasty of Evil) Was Bane's Rule of Two flawed from the start? Ultimately the successor doesnt need to be greater.

Theoretically, Bane wanted the Rule of Two so they could produce the strongest Sith. If there were too many Sith, they could just backstab the one strong Sith and kill him. So with the Rule of two, it would force the apprentice to be stronger as they'd challenge and beat their master, and every generation could produce stronger Sith.

In fact, he was worried that Zannah was trying to subvert the Rule of Two by waiting until he was too old and sick before challenging and beating him, instead of beating him at his prime

However, most apprentices didnt challenge and beat their masters in fair fights, they just cheap shot them >! Plagueis to Tenebrous, Palpatine to Plagueis, Vader to Palpatine !<(Darth Plagueis, Return of the Jedi) which makes sense as by his own system, Sith are taught to be cunning and devious.

So technically the idea was never going to work.

Or am I missing something?

Palpatine seems to use Bane's exact skills. Subtly maneuvering pieces against each other as a distraction, never supporting one side too much, just trying to keep the conflict ongoing and screwing the Jedi over. Did Palpatine know about what Bane did?

How did a Sith, Belia Darzu, have a stronghold on Tython, which had long been a Jedi controlled planet(at least up through swtor era)? I didnt think the Sith had any presence there. Not to mention it is in the deep core which is difficult to navigate anyway, and firmly in the Republic controlled part of the galaxy.

Maybe I am overthinking this lol.

I just read the Knight Errant novel. Very fun and interesting book about a Jedi Knight named Kerra Holt behind enemy lines in Sith territory(a Knight errant, if you will).

JJM does great worldbuilding here as Kerra Holt journeys to several different Dystopian worlds living under some outrageous, quirky Sith dictators. Later you find out >! Those Sith dictators are relatives !<

She meets some allies who help her such as Rusher, a former Brigadier artillery man who now leads a mercenary artillery crew and works for whoever pays him. He also turns out to have a decent heart.

It is very different from many other EU novels as it focuses a lot on the Sith culture of the time period and what its like living on their side of the galaxy. It is very Mad Max / Game of Thrones. It mixes elements of grim dark fantasy which was interesting.

8/10.
