Day 2 and never looking back

I began this journey as i came to the simple realization that it is silly that i need a little pouch to feel okay, just silly and that's about all it took.

Thankfully, i was unconsciously preparing for this moment through cutting back from 6's to 3's and doing them less and less, which i would recommend for anyone who wants to quit but finds it hard to go straight spartan mode and quit on the spot. I was doing a lot of research as the withdrawals kicked in to make myself feel like this is worth it and i ended up being absolutely fascinated with the human body.

When we stop intaking nicotine, our body goes through a process of vasodilation, which is essentially your blood vessels widening and getting bigger (i found this out when i was trying to figure out where the itching feeling from withdrawals comes from). two other things i thought were cool was after quitting nicotine our bodies experience less burnout (i use to slump at 1:30 pm daily at work and now i feel great and fully awake) and the brain fog is essentially our brain going under heavy maintenance to grow back receptors that give us a steadier flow of dopamine.

I've been vaping and then pouches for 9 years of my life and hopefully i have given nicotine all the time that i had for it. Although i am in the very early stages of recovery, I just want to share that if you are going through this, use the side effects of withdrawal as a chance to understand the complex nature of your body. Have gratitude that your amazing body can recover from this, and try to treat your body as a temple in the future, as it really does amazing things for us without us asking it to, and i think i can speak for almost all humans in that we take this gift of a body for granted.

Good luck to anyone reading this, your body and your family will greatly appreciate the tiny amount of suffering you have to face to be done with nicotine forever.
