My three year old indoor cat is scheduled to be spayed tomorrow. I adopted her only a few months ago and don’t know whether she ever received the FVRCP when she was a kitten (although I doubt she did).

I’d prefer not to give her added vaccinations if it’s not essential at this point since she never received the first shot. Given that she’s three years, is it necessary for her to still get this vaccination?

CLARIFICATION: I just didn’t want to over-vaccinate her if it wasn’t necessary. I have nothing against her being vaccinated. Like I mentioned in the original post, most articles discussed the initial shot when just a kitten. Didn’t know if they build up immune over time….hence the initial question.

Tonight when I was wiping my female cat who is not yet spayed, there was unusual prominent bright red blood on the pad after I wiped. I've wiped her a couple of times over the past four hours. She could be in heat, but this doesn't seem usual.

Her private area looks slightly inflamed. She hasn't been showing any signs of distress and she did eat her dinner. There also is no signs of blood in her two litter boxes.

Is this something I can wait until the morning to make appt with the vet and have her checked out? It's 10pm currently.
