I just got an email from Rogers saying that my plan is expiring in 3 months (beginning of August). It's a Save & Return plan (phone plan plus phone financing).

I'm planning on shopping around to see what the other major carriers will offer me for phone financing and a comparable phone plan, then coming back to Rogers to see if they can match/beat what I can find elsewhere.

How early should I start inquiring with other carriers/negotiating with Rogers? I feel like 3 months might be too early to start this. Should I wait until a few weeks before my plan expires, or is it fine to start now?

Also, any tips on how to negotiate would be appreciated.
