My third time posting to this subreddit. What a crazy year 2026 has been!
Left side is today, right side is 2 days before my surgery. I had a LeFort 1 advancement and BSSO setback.
It feels amazing to be 4 months out now. I still remember the days of eating out of syringes and wrapping my face in ice packs. I’m still so thankful I was able to get this operation done and am so pleased with my results.
Even though chewing certain foods is still weird, I can chew normally for the first time ever. Getting to chew with my front teeth is amazing! I can also finally smile without trying to cover my lower teeth.
I get my braces off later this month, then it will truly feel like this whole process of my life has come to a close. While I still have some more healing to do (still numb in my chin and lower lip plus lots of swelling in my jowls), I couldn’t be happier with my results.
Thanks again to all the people who motivated me on my initial post 4 months ago and gave me the courage to get this done. I hope the ones who wanted to see the updates come across this post lol.
