Happening Now: myCB Soft Launch - Sat May 9

Be thoroughly disgusted as you sign on to myCBradio.org and see AI HogSlop slathered all over everything you love! We’re splooging AI all over the elderly, women and young kids that are closest to you!

Seriously, we are just a little CB radio club out of Central Texas with about 30 members. We can’t find an app or a platform to do the things we want to do.

SDR: So we have some SDR links available, BFD, right? myCB is SDR for 11m 27MHz only, should make it easier to navigate, favorite some of your towers to your dashboard for easy click and listens. If you’ve just dialed in your radio or installed the echo, you can listen to what your own radio sounds like on the SDR whether it’s a local tower or you’re shooting skip

Live Chat: see who’s online, shoot the shit about CB

Logbook: online or print out a blank sheet from home. After you log a dozen or so contacts, it starts filling up, adjusting your stats and me memorializing the contacts you make and with what equipment you made them on.

Tips & Tricks: just bought your first CB radio and antenna? Having some problems with your SWR what does this mean? What does that mean? It’s all here learn everything about CB radio.

Thanks gang, she may be a fat AI pig, but she’s beautiful on the inside. Thanks for checking it out.

Georgetown CB Radio Brought Back To Life After 30+ Years

I saw a CB radio tower on the side of the I 35 southbound in Georgetown coming into Austin. I looked up the owners name and contacted them to find out. The house had been empty for almost 30 years after the lady that lived there had passed. All throughout the 70s and 80s, Texas Red Head Louise Whitfield KIO5037 would sit at her base station no more than 50 feet off the I 35 southbound coming into Austin Texas and make connections and keep those drivers awake through conversation. We entered the house and saw this radio full of dust along with rotors, and of course, the tower outside. The owner said if we removed it all we could have it, and boy did we. I sent this radio to 350 radio, Morgan Ridings out of Georgia, and he replaced everything he could on this Mark X Cornell Dubliner. Today, this is my bedside radio, and I have ol Texas Reds QR card sitting on top of the radio, as a reminder of where it came from. Thanks for letting me share.

TXDX CB Radio Club (Central Texas) – Keeping CB Alive & Bringing It Online

Soft Launch is this Saturday May 9, 2026, but we are releasing on Reddit RIGHT NOW:
www.mycbradio.org

We started TXDX back in 2020 as a pretty simple idea—get some folks together and keep CB radio alive the old-fashioned way.

Every Sunday night from 8–9PM (Central), we run a check-in on Channel 28 (11m) covering the Austin / Hill Country area. Locals, skip shooters, base stations—it’s all welcome. What started small has turned into about 30 members ranging from teenagers to retirees.

We’re not some polished organization—we’re a working-class group. Mechanics, trades guys, business owners, students… you name it. Some of our members have passed on or moved away, but they’re still a big part of why we keep this going.

We climb towers, install antennas, troubleshoot radios—you help where you can and learn what you don’t know. Our club president (also co-founder) is our go-to tech and keeps a lot of rigs and stations alive. We’ve also got younger members coming in, which is something we really care about, so we offer discounts for high schoolers on radios and installs.

What we’re trying to build now
We realized something… CB radio never really had its own modern space online, that old school CB’s would respect.

So we’re building one.
We’re working on an app + desktop platform called myCB, built specifically for CB users. The idea is simple:
Listen to CB radio from around the world
Log your contacts (mobile or base)
Find other CB clubs, techs, and trusted gear
Have a place for both beginners and seasoned operators
No fluff—just something that actually serves the CB community.

Why this matters
CB radio is one of those things that’s easy to write off as “dead”… but it’s not. It’s just scattered.
There are still a lot of us out here. We just need better ways to connect and bring new people in.

If you’re into CB (or even just curious)
Hop on Channel 28 Sunday nights if you’re in range
Check out what we’re building with myCB
and listen to us online or on the app. Or just share your thoughts—we’re building this as we go
Any support, feedback, or even just spreading the word helps more than you’d think.

If you’re running a station, thinking about getting into CB, or just miss hearing voices roll in from nowhere… you’re probably one of us already.

Mission Statement
TXDX CB Radio Club exists to preserve, promote, and modernize the tradition of CB radio by building a strong, inclusive community rooted in real-world skill, mutual support, and accessible technology
