Hi! Hoping someone can help with my weird request.

We had a huge Desert Museum tree that unfortunately mostly blew down in a microburst a few years ago. We took off everything but a partial trunk. I'd let suckers grow and then cut them back, was super weird looking and not stable.

We only recently got around to taking a chainsaw to the remaining trunk and some of the big roots. Cut some slashes in the the stump. Now, two months later, I keep finding new shoots coming out of remaining roots in every direction.

I'd read to drill holes and pour epsom salt in them. Maybe that worked some? But there's just more and more shoots popping up from unknown roots. I've already planted a mesquite nearby, and I don't want t forest of these little unstable shoots. Any ideas on how I can eradicate them?

Many thanks! 😄
