This game has plagued me (and multiple friends) for years, and now I pass this burden onto others. It had relatively simple graphics from what I remember, nothing great but not necessarily *bad* either.
This was PRIME itch io era, when stuff like Facade was everywhere.
It opens as the player being thrown out of a van, heavily implied to be full of thieves. The environment is super colorful and you look down as they drive off, seeing that the controls are etched in your hand. After a brief "what the?" from the player, you're left to wander around amongst a multitude of friendly pink guys.
The premise is to make friends with one of them,. but each one rejects you. Either because they're friends with someone else, or because they just start insulting you. This goes on and on until you approach one with a giant deformed foot.
After you agree to be friends with him, the two of you go to a cabin(?) and talk for a minute. He reveals no one is friends with him because of his giant foot and because he accidentally killed his last friend by caving his head in with it.
As this goes on, some of the other pink creatures begin jeering through the window, throwing vicious mockery at the two of you. Eventually this turns into a full on mob and they break in.
You're left with a cutscene where you attempt to run away, but end up being caught in a bear trap. After some time, your friend approaches you and attempts to put you out of your misery by stomping your skull in.
The screen goes to black and we see a high-rise city apartment, evidently expensive in nature. The game ends here, implying you are now playing as the thieves who drove off at the beginning of the game.
