KIng Piru Palms / Queen Palms Soil Testing ?

Have some newly planted palms (King Piru and Canary 'Pinapple' Palms) here in Las Vegas. We also have about 20 queen palms around our yard that I'd like to test the soil periodically to know they are getting sufficient water to the root balls and roots. Some are def stressed and doing my best to correct and feed them what they need. Can anyone recommend a good soil testing probe/device for tesing the soil and measuring moistness, etc. Thanks.
