Hi,

I live in the UK, 1930s house.

I want to hang a mirror, its pretty heavy - 9kg - it will need drilling to hang. Where I want it has been problematic. And most walls in my home have the same issue when wanting to hang or put anything onto the wall...

I do have a metal detector- so I can avoid drilling through pipes/wiring.

The issue I have is that when I get through the layer of plaster, is that I either hit mortar or brick. I am finding it almost impossible to drill through the dense laye of brick. I have the appropriate drill and drill bits.

Anyone that has any suggestions or advice, I'd appreciate it.

Just to add- i have masonry drill bits, a corded drill and cordless drill with hammer drill function
