I have a kid that wants to play synth keys and is incredibly creative. they also were blessed with my ADHD and are not to be trusted with a screen. so, a computer or tablet is truly out of the question

we have a fun midi capable controller, I am trying to find a way to have it interface with something they can mess with and, hopefully, also have maybe recording and, as a bonus, some sequencing capabilities? is there such a thing, or is this a pipe dream?
