Viltrox Vintage Z2 Sony problem after charging the batteries

I was wondering if anyone knows any solution or recommendation to my problem.

I bought a Viltrox Vintage Z2 for my Sony a6400 recently. When it arrived, it was working perfectly, and it was pretty much what i wanted for my camera.

Then i charged it up till full. After charging, I tried using it again, but this time, it didn't work properly. It either didn't go off when i pressed the shutter, or it did go off, but it went off earlier than the shutter.

I tried pretty much all the recommended solutions on the internet related to external flash.

- Turning the flash/camera on and off

- Reinsert the flash properly

- Cleaning both ports with isopropyl alcohol

- Recharging the flash

- Change my camera battery

- Checked all my camera settings (turning of silent shooting, shutter and etc)

- Holding the power button of the flash for longer (I dont think it did anything)

- Changing the flash mode from TTL to Manual and Manual to TTL

I do think it's the flash firmware issue since there's a couple of things I tested that directed to that conclusion.

Firsr, my camera recognizes that the flash is attached since it adjusted the preview exposure when i turned on the flash.

Secondly, I also tried on a Sony ZV-1f and also had the same problem.

Third, i tried my flash extension with it, and it worked perfectly, insync flashes in both TTL and Manual mode without me touching anything in my camera settings. But when I tried using the flash again without the extension, the problem came back. Noted I didn't change any of the settings.

Lastly, I don't think the flash has an easy way to update or reinstall the firmware since when I connected it to my computer, nothing came up. And I don't see anyone else has the same problem as mine on the internet so far, hence why I'm asking in here.

If anyone knows the solution to my problem, please help. It's much appreciated.
