This is just a theory, but Reform councillors have consistently proved to be incompetent or corrupt or both. If they win several councils and make a complete shitshow of it over the next several years - hopefully with a few high profile disasters hitting the headlines even - does this make the prospect of PM Fashrage in 2028 less likely? I'm hoping they get just enough actual power to thoroughly hoist themselves with their own petards before they get a chance to nationally fuck us all a la Trump.
I'm too old and jaded at this point to be an optimist at this point, but it's like inbuilt tendency I can't seem to get over.
I'm also hopeful that enough Greens also do great in Labour strongholds to get rid of Keir and pull the party to the left for the next 2 years.
