Captain, sternguard, vanvets, and a dreadnought already for the painting table now!

Truescale bodies from tortuga.

Prepping some firstborn proxies for primaris units for the new edition to get playing again.

Today i managed to get sorted;

- Jump Cpt (to lead the vanvets which are next on the build list)

- Lt.

- Intercessor squad.

- Eradicators.

- Company Champion.

Have added some regular firstborn and an old metal one to show the size difference. Think this army needs some of the new termies and maybe a vehicle or two.

Let me know if you have any recommendations for what is good on tabletop and what you used to proxy them, most of this was done using Horus Heresy bodies and a few third party bits. Also if you know any kits which are especially good for bits/conversions always welcome.

Had to grab a box before these are gone forever, probably should try to find another.

Now the hard part, deciding how to build these guys, TH/SS, claws, chainswords and pistols? All are pretty fun ... decisions, decisions.

Firstborn homebrew continue to grow, if you have any van vets built and painted, feel free to show them, would appreciate the inspiration!

Lots of painting, highlighting and washes still to go, the scheme is red, black and silver (if you couldnt guess) right red shoulder for basic brothers, red head for sgts, then both red shoulders and backpacks for veterans, basically the more red the higher the rank or more accomplishments in battle, i.e red kneepad or hand etc.

Plan to rebase the chapter master on something taller to proxy better as the lion (or the hound in this case).

Basic lore for the chapter is that they lost their homeworld to chaos, and now are apart of the mythos angelic mortis, patrolling the eye of terror as a fleet based chapter. Their progenitor chapter is unknown. They also have a larger number of chaplains and apothecaries in their ranks as well as inquisitorial oversight due to their proximity to the forces of chaos and a number of brothers falling to an unknown rage (black rage / blood angel successors but unknown in universe - though i will likely play them as Dark angels or regular space marines).

As you can probably see I still prefer my firstborn lol. Plan to get all the kits that I missed out on when I first started playing in 5th and stopped for along while. Currently working on a Whirlwind and will have to get my old collection through some paint stripping before they can join the chapter.
