4 years!
I can’t believe i made it this far. My smoking period of 15 years feels like a lifetime ago.
If I could do it, anyone can. Good luck to everyone in their journey for a much better, much freer life.

We have two cats (neutered male, 2 and 2.5 years old). We moved in to a new house recently and one of our cats ended up eating what we initially thought was an ornamental grass. We did not see which one, we only see the aftermath which was a vomit of 1 leaf. The leaf was intact and the cats had been outside less than 1 hour at that point. So whoever ate it threw it up quickly.
For peace of mind I wanted to search the plant and we found out that it was a daylily and it was very toxic to cats. I knew of lilies and that they are toxic to cats, but daylilies was something i never heard of. I had no idea that without the flowers they look just like grass. the plants are now long gone from the garden, unfortunately too little too late.
Of course i immediately called emergency vet. We were informed on the phone that there was nothing they could do at that point, because they would make the cats throw up but that already happened on its own. We were asked to wait and observe them very closely and bring them in immediately if their situation gets worse (if they start vomiting, stop eating, become lethargic or their urination changes etc.) in the next 72 hours. And then bring them to the vet for blood test to check their kidneys. This was on Saturday afternoon. i called emergency vet twice but they were adamant on waiting. The cats stayed stable until Monday.
On Monday j reached out to the vet to schedule blood test but Tuesday was a holiday, so we were asked to bring them in the same day. The blood tests were done on hour 42. The blood tests came back completely normal, no sign of distress. We were asked to keep observing them until the end of hour 72.
The cats are still stable, eating, drinking, reacting normally. I see the urination today increased by 1 visit for one of our cats. But this is the only deviation. And now we have passed 72 hours. I still feel very uneasy because of the “early” blood test. I guess I am also a bit paranoid by 1 time increase in the toilet use. Should i follow up with our vet again tomorrow? Should we do another blood test? What is the best course of action? Are we really in the clear?
