The holy grail was a medieval literary invention. And a grail watch is a reddit punter invention to justify obsession, large financial spend etc.

Just as nobody will ever find the holy grail, you will never find your grail watch. So debating the subtleties of what can and cannot be a "grail watch" is a moot subject.

And even if you don't agree with my rationale, you're still a human and thus subject to hedonic adaptation. Sometimes it just be like it do.
