For context I work in Fresh Chilled Manufacturing Goods and have done my whole career. I am 24 at the moment working as a shop floor manager. I have experience stepping up into production manager daily duties however this has only ever been sick / holiday cover with the occasional delegated task.
I was recently approached by a recruiter regarding a senior production manager role. Initially I thought this was above what I should be aiming for but thought I would apply because “what’s the worst that can happen”
After 3 interviews I have been offered the role. They believe I am a good fit for the role and value the experience I have got under my belt. In theory In this role I am managing my current manager…
I am in a good position where I am currently and on a good path to progress but often wonder when the time will come for me as the level above me seems pretty locked for the next 2-3 years.
Current pay £40,000 30 mins drive
Potential pay £56,000 60 mins drive
Do I take the jump?
TIA
Edit: A lot of positive feedback already. Really appreciate it. Another concern that I haven’t really picked up on is age. Although it shouldn’t matter being 24 at that level in this industry doesn’t happen often.
