Just wondering how the single player experience is with blood bowl 3 at the moment?

I own and have played a lot of the first 2 blood bowls and my favourite part of the game has always been playing in persistent leagues with the CPU where all teams progress across the course of the campaign.

I felt like Blood Bowl 1 Legendary edition did this the best.

Last time I asked the general consensus was that I was better off playing the originals for this experience rather than buying BB3. Is this still the case or have they improved the offline mode?
