My girlfriend and I are going on vacation from August 2nd to August 16th. We’ll be driving from the province of Macerata (In the middle of Italy).
Our current plan is to split the trip like this:
Budapest: 9 nights
Vienna: 5 nights (actually 4 and a half, considering the drive from Budapest to Vienna on the morning of August 11th)
We are young, but we like to take things slow and don't want to rush from one attraction to the next.
Since we’ve planned to try out three different thermal baths, I figured Budapest deserved more days than Vienna.
However, I have a doubt: could this itinerary be optimized better?
Does it make sense to cut a few days from Budapest to dedicate them to another destination?
If you have other cities to recommend, we just ask to keep these logistical limits in mind:
Drive time: No more than 12/13 total hours of driving (including stops) from Macerata to our destination, or vice versa.
Travel between stops: Travel time between cities shouldn't exceed 3 hours (we'd prefer not to lose half a day to travel).
What do you think? Thanks in advance to anyone who replies!
