Hello first time possible stone in Jan. I didn’t know the symptoms of stones until later. I declined a CT because of the contrast dye. What is the alternative? My urologist seems to think it’s the only way. And I am sensitive to medication so I am nervous to be injected with contrast.

Back story: January I had what I thought was a back injury but I never did anything to cause it. It came on suddenly severe couldn’t move without pain and had cramping and radiating pain from my back to my abdomen. Little did I know that could be symptoms of a stone. I’ve had microscopic hematuria that they are trying to find source of. Anyone have similar experience? What was your RBC? Did you have symptom like mine? I had a baby two years ago and dull back pain I’ve associated since giving birth to normal back pain. Once the possible stone passed in January my back pain was magically gone. I still have hematuria so now they want the study and cystoscopy.
