Hi all,
I have a trip planned for September this year and I was curious about the static divide trail for one of the days. I currently have this day planned for fox creek pass to Alaska basin via the death canyon shelf. Wondering if it might be worth it to change to death canyon to Alaska basin via the static divide trail. The day after, I am going from Alaska basin to lower paintbrush as of now(will try to make it a little shorter if possible). Is static peak worth the extra miles and elevation gain or is death canyon shelf the better area? Will static peak even be hike-able in mid September or will it be snowy/icy? I can confirm a best route with a ranger when I arrive but I wanted to throw some feelers out there about the idea.
Thanks!
