This photo is not immediately after the incident. But before that I'll put the needed info.

Minor, but can take cat to the vet.

US

Vet accessible

Cat is roughly 11 months, was adopted at 9 months

Cat is female and spayed

Can afford vet care

TLDR: someone in the household who has hurt the cat but has nowhere else to go.

My cat, Squid, was scratching at the wheelchair my great grandma was in and accidentally scratched my grandma. My m great uncle who is 60, technically homeless, and does not work kicked her upon my grandma saying "ouch" when my cat accidentally scratched her. He kicked her pretty hard but she seems fine otherwise. She's grooming herself and seems pretty relaxed. I really just want to know how to prevent this from happening again. She has plenty of toys and a scratching post so idk why she always chooses furniture. He has nowhere else to go and he has no job (he is not disabled or retired might I add) so we can't kick him out but I can't move out to keep him away from her either. My cat has been returned to she shelter we got her from multiple times and has a history of being abused so I know this was very stressful for her. Any advice would be great.

Edit: As I've said, I am a minor. I cannot kick him out and I cannot legally move out. I'm also not old enough to legally get emancipated. I've tried talking to the homeowner and my guardian to get him out but they are REFUSING. I literally have no choice in a lot of this.

It'll only be a few months. That's what NASA said. A few months on the base they built on the moon. Collect rocks, record temperature, mark any weather patterns, charge the rovers, and make a daily report back to headquarters. That was everything I was meant to do. Until something happened that knocked one of the communication towers out.

"They've got me all the way out here doing shit I'm not being paid for." I spoke to myself, knowing that nobody could hear me. It was nice to vent without anyone giving unsolicited advice. But as I got closer to the comm towers, I heard a rhythmic tapping. I brushed it off. Maybe it was some kind of lunar wind pushing a rock against something over and over.

As I fixed the wires, I kept seeing something go past. Like it was running. Stalking.

*Whatever, I'm just hallucinating from the lack of contact. Humans are social creatures after all.*

Once the comms were back up, I heard my boss's voice over the radio in my space helmet.

"Could you 10-9, Rogers? Your voice wasn't clear." I was confused at first. I hadn't said anything, couldn't because of the comms being out.

"I didn't say anything." I called back. "I was fixing the communication wires. One of the rovers must've knocked one of the connections loose while driving past."

"Rogers, what are you talking about? It shows that you're in the base."

"Captain, I swear. I am not on base."

"Then... What's that dot I see on the map...?"

I paused. My heart stopped and then I couldn't stop hearing it pound in my ears.

"Captain. I don't think I'm alone here."
